Acceptable use policy
Trustfac provides payment and messaging software to registered businesses. This policy says who may use it and what it may be used for. It is part of the service agreement every customer signs.
Who can have an account
- Registered US businesses (LLCs, corporations and partnerships) with a bank account in the business's own name.
- A named owner or officer who can be verified and who is responsible for the account.
- A live website that shows what the business sells, how to reach it, and its refund and privacy terms.
There are no personal accounts, and an account cannot be shared with or used on behalf of another business.
What we review before going live
Every application is checked for business registration, the identity of the owner, sanctions screening, the website and its products, and prior processing history. We may ask for bank statements, supplier invoices or licenses. Approval can be declined without a stated reason, and an approved account can be paused if what it processes stops matching what was approved.
Prohibited uses
- Anything illegal where the business or its customer is located
- Counterfeit goods, or goods that infringe a trademark or copyright
- Controlled substances, and products marketed with medical claims that have not been approved
- Firearms, ammunition and weapons
- Gambling, lotteries and sweepstakes that require payment to enter
- Adult content and services
- Debt collection, credit repair, and get-rich-quick or multi-level marketing schemes
- Sales of personal data, or any use that violates a person's privacy
- Processing payments for a business other than the one on the account
- Misrepresenting what is being sold, who is selling it, or the price
Messaging
Texts and push notifications go only to people who opted in. STOP is honored immediately across every program, HELP is answered, and nothing is sent outside the recipient's daytime hours. Customers may not upload purchased lists or message people who did not ask to hear from them.
What happens on a breach
We may pause an account, hold funds for the period the card networks allow, end the agreement, and report what the law requires us to report. Where we can, we tell the customer what we found and give them the chance to fix it first.
Reporting
